I was born in Overland Park, Kansas, but I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. I graduated from Pius X High School in 2016. I have one older brother, Zach, who graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2017, and now works as an actuarial analyst for Milliman in Omaha.
Currently, I am a junior at Kansas State University, majoring in Secondary Mathematics Education. I am a member of the K-State Tennis Club, the University Honors Program, Kappa Delta Pi-Iota Xi Chapter, an international honor society in education, and involved at St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center. I work in the kitchen at the Center for Child Development on campus, as well. I am planning to graduate in December of 2019.
This semester, I was given the opportunity to work with the College of Education and USD-383 to plan this year's district-wide Family STEAM Night, which gives elementary students and their families a chance to learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through hands-on, engaging activities.
I hope to teach back in Nebraska or around the Kansas City area after graduation. I have always known that teaching is the career for me, and watching my high school teachers solidified my decision. I enjoy being around kids and can't wait to be able to impact their lives positively. I want to show each child that their biggest dreams are possible, and give them the tools to reach them.
