EDUCATE KANSAS
”nobody cares how much you know until They know how much you care” -Anne Driewer
I am honored to be a part of the College of Education Honors program. This year, as a part of the Honors DED318 course here at K-State, we were asked to create a video similar to those in the Educate Kansas campaign. We had many options as how we could approach this task, but I chose to go back home to Lincoln, Nebraska to interview one of my own high school teachers, Anne Driewer. She taught geometry my freshman year and AP Calculus my senior year. As I learn more and more about the field of education, I have realized just how great of an educator she is. I was very excited to learn more from her, and hear her opinions on many aspects of education. Her words were truly inspiring to me. We spoke about how she makes connections with each and every one of her students, even in a high school math classroom. I had so much fun going back to my high school to interview and film for this video. All video was taken on an iPad and the video was put together via iMovie. This was my first school project making a complete video, so I learned a lot about videography. My classmates each made a video for Educate Kansas as well. My video, as well as each of theirs, can be found on this Padlet or Adobe Spark Page. I am excited to share my final product, and I hope you enjoy it.
